I thought I was going to be eating tuna for dinner! Turns out it was swordfish- someone needs to learn their fish types! Here's a picture of my delicious dinner.
Does that sound as terrifying to you as it does to me? This is happening tomorrow on Day 3 of my Whole30. The email from Whole30 came just in time. Reminding me instead of looking at this a place filled with temptation... I'm going to think about what I can eat... we are eating at an Asian Fusion restaurant. In ,my opinion, an easier place to try to stay on track then say an Italian restaurant. And this particular place will make rolls with no rice!
The part that can be hard to me is what other people might say:
These are all things that have been said to me before while I'm trying to complete a challenge and sometimes I let them sway me into thinking a slip or two is okay. But then I think of my dad... always modifying everything in the restaurant never afraid to ask how they make things or what ingredients the chief includes as "seasoning". He calls it his "very special diet from his doctor" AKA eating heart healthy, but when you put it like that everyone is very accommodating. We have never been to a restaurant where he hasn't been able to make something work for him! I will be channeling his energies tomorrow and I will post the deliciousness I eat!! All of which will be Whole30 compliant! What do you do when you eat out? What tips do you have?
So I'm here again... Starting another whole 30. My friends and co-workers are probably rolling their eyes. Here she goes again. My boyfriend was like really again with the no drinking thing. Thinking to themselves we will see if it lasts longer than 4 days. I had success with a paleo challenge years ago but that was when I was healthy, in shape, and had a relatively healthy relationship with food and excersie. The same can't be said now... Things are harder when it means change. So here I go! And I am determined. Day 1 is supposed to be a breeze and it was until about 6pm when nothing sounded better than buttered popcorn on the couch with my nook. But I took a breath ate cashews and raw peppers and calmly said "when are we eating?" I have also asked that the remaining popcorn be eaten during the rose bowl or it will meet its fate tomorrow..
