I have been using The 30 Day Guide to Paleo to help me with my meal planning. I love this resource. I own several different paleo cookbooks and this one by far is the easiest to follow. I love that it comes with meal plans and a shopping list!!! You just buy everything on the list and then you have what you need. This makes cooking so easy!! Making my shopping list sometimes took me up to an hour. This is such a time saver. The only thing I realized is that sometimes the serving size is way bigger than you need so you can save some money by checking to see if you actually need the amount of meat it calls for (that was my biggest expense). My week 1 of shopping was $150, $56 of it being the meat. Next week i think I should be able to get it below $100 since I won't need to buy some of the pantry staples like coconut milk and olive oil. The meal maps in It Starts with Food is also a great resource! It just takes sometime putting meals together and complying a list. However, it looks like Whole 30 is coming out with their own version of the 30 day guide in April. I will definitely be making that purchase! I am also on vacation right now so I have time to cook three separate meals a day. Starting Monday I will probably eat the previous day's dinner for lunch. I might lose my mind if I try to keep up with all that cooking! And my wallet might end up empty. Today for brunch I had leftover lamb skillet with cabbage noodles. Just as good today as it was yesterday. Dinner will be ahi tuna!! Yum! Wish me luck today with my 6pm cravings. I will be at the gym taking a class during that time so I think I'll be able to handle it! How do you meal plan? Comment and post resources! |
