Sooo..... Paleo is all about eating bacon right? all the meat you want? Bacon wrapped bacon? NO! This is probably the biggest misconception I hear. People are also convinced that clean eating is better than paleo. Hmmm... in my opinion they are pretty much the same thing. Clean eating might have some more flexibiliy in regards to whole grains and raw milk, but other than that they are pretty much the same.... Someone comment if I'm confused :)
The part of It Starts with Food that I loved the most was when they explained portion control. They tell you in the easiest ways to understand what the portions should be. Who really knows what 3oz of chicken actually looks like. But the size of your palm? Well that's easy enough to measure! I love that it includes this type of easy to visualize measurements for all foods including nuts... got to watch out for those nuts! Can't be eating 30 even though it seems fine!
No picture of breakfast we both ate it too fast! Love when Kris enjoys a good paleo meal!!
Brussel Sprouts with Poached Eggs
Here's generally what I did....
I pretty much think I'm proof that you don't need to be a "cook" to make great, filling meal. I can't handle food processors and complex directions....
What has your experience been with making whole cooking as simple as possible?

Brussel Sprouts with Poached Eggs
- 4 eggs
- 1 cup brussel sprouts (would have used more but that's all we had left)
Here's generally what I did....
- I actually have no idea how to poach eggs but I think this works, add water to medium saucepan, add eggs, cover, and cook; check several times to see if they're cooked; when they look done take them out. Fill the pan with soapy water ASAP so the egg stuck to the bottom doesn't ruin your pan. Good luck ha!
- In a skillet, add coconut oil, onion powder, and cook brussel sprouts
- When they look done put them in a bowl with your poached egg
